Welcome to Dos Caminos Elementary, a 2017 recipient of the California Association of
Bilingual Education Seal of Excellence Award! This award recognizes Dos Caminos for its
vision of biliteracy, its commitment toward educational excellence for all students and its
focus on providing students with the skills they will need to be successful in the
21 st century.
It is with great honor that I continue to serve this superb Dual Immersion School and its
community as the principal! I have a Master's Degree in Educational Administration with
an emphasis on School Leadership, a BCLAD and Single-Subject Mathematics Credential
from California State University, Long Beach. I have been serving in education since 1985
when I began my career as a teacher's assistant. In my 17 years as a classroom teacher, I
taught at both the elementary level and the secondary level, teaching everything from
Kindergarten to Algebra at both the Middle and High School levels. Prior to joining Palmdale
School District as Assistant Principal of Los Amigos Dual Immersion School in 2015, I
served as a Mathematics Instructional Coach, Long-term English Language Learner
Instructional Coach, Title One Coordinator, Assistant Principal and District Math
Coordinator for Los Angeles.
I feel very proud to be part of an educational team that believes in every child's ability to
learn and thrive in a supportive and caring learning environment. Each day at school your
child will be supported academically, socially and emotionally, through a variety of focused,
engaging and relevant experiences that meet the unique needs of each student. At Dos
Caminos, we are committed to providing a well-rounded educational foundation for
students so that they are prepared and ready to compete in today’s global society.
Given my own personal experiences as an English Language Learner, I feel very fortunate
to be part of a district that promises to provide all students with an opportunity for STEAM
and Dual Immersion as early as kindergarten- really letting our students explore, discover
and learn how languages work.
I look forward to the 2017-2018 school year with great enthusiasm and excitement! Please
do not hesitate to contact me directly, with celebrations and concerns; your input, as
always is greatly appreciated.
